What is in the PDF

  • Trace, write and find each sight word, three words per page
  • Six short sentences to read
  • Answer key for the find and circle rows

How to use this printable

Print the PDF at 100 percent scale on US Letter or A4 paper. Give the child a pencil or crayons. Start with pages 1 and 2. Have the child trace each sight word, then write it on the line, and finally find and circle it in the row. Do three words per page. Move to page 3. Ask the child to read each short sentence aloud. Point to each word as they read. Use page 4 to check the circled words. The child learns to recognize, write, and read six sight words: like, look, play, run, big, blue. This builds reading fluency and writing skills. Repeat the pages on different days for practice. The activity takes about 10 to 15 minutes per session.

Teaching tips

  • To make it easier, say the word aloud and have the child repeat it before tracing.
  • To make it harder, cover the traced word and ask the child to write it from memory.
  • To reuse the pages, place them in a plastic sleeve and use a dry erase marker.
