What is in the PDF

  • Trace, write and find each sight word, three words per page
  • Six short sentences to read
  • Answer key for the find and circle rows

How to use this printable

Print the PDF at 100 percent scale on US Letter or A4 paper. No sign up is needed. Give the child a pencil or crayons. Start with pages 1 and 2. Ask the child to trace each sight word with a finger first, then write it with the pencil. Next, have the child find and circle the word in the row. Do this for all six words. Move to page 3. Read each short sentence aloud together. Point to each word as you read. The child can read the sight words they know. Use page 4 to check the find and circle answers. The child learns to recognize, write, and read six common sight words: the, and, is, it, my, up. This builds early reading fluency and writing confidence.

Teaching tips

  • Let the child use a different color crayon for each sight word to make the activity more fun and help with word recognition.
  • After the child finishes a page, ask them to point to each sight word in the sentences on page 3 and say it out loud.
  • To reuse the pages, place them in a plastic sleeve and have the child write with a dry erase marker.
