What is in the PDF
- Two numbers per page, each with a big tracing number, a ten frame to count and boxes to write
How to use this printable
Print the PDF at 100 percent scale on US Letter or A4 paper. No sign up is needed. Give the child a pencil or crayons. Start with page 1, which shows numbers 1 and 2. Point to the big tracing number and say its name. Ask the child to trace the number with a finger first, then with the pencil. Next, look at the ten frame next to the number. Count the filled circles together. Then have the child write the number in the boxes below. Repeat for each number on the page. Continue through all five pages to cover numbers 1 to 10. The child learns to write each number correctly, count objects up to 10, and connect the written number to a quantity.
Teaching tips
- To make it easier, let the child trace the big number with a crayon or marker first. To make it harder, ask the child to write the number without tracing.
- Count the ten frame circles out loud together each time. Say the number name slowly and clearly to build number word recognition.
- Place the page in a plastic sleeve and use a dry erase marker. Wipe clean and reuse the page many times for extra practice.
